Perhaps the question that I’ve gotten asked more than any other over the last several years is: “Why don’t you have a website?”

TBH, I think it’s been a combination of multiple things: literally all my clients have come to me via word of mouth, which means that I have some pretty satisfied clients; there are only 24 hours in a day, and when you start adding up the numbers, the amount I can legitimately dedicate to my job, family, clients and sleep (which is super important – especially as we get older), I didn’t have the bandwidth to create and manage my own website; my client work has always been at the forefront of my mind. So to refer back to the headline of this blog post, the cobbler’s children didn’t have shoes, so to speak.

So what’s changed? Why now with this site and blog?

Increasingly, I’m finding the need to voice my thoughts on a variety of topics: design, marketing, parenting, gadgets, productivity, and how social media, technology and connectivity are changing how we live our day-to-day lives. Sometimes those thoughts will come in the form of a stream-of-consciousness rant and sometimes they’ll be structured lessons on how to do something, but the goal, like any storyteller, is to “never be boring” (that’s a quote directly attributable to author and friend Valerie Geller).

So after much contemplation, going back to the drawing board several times and finally settling on a plan, here we are. As a reformed procrastinator, I’m hoping to write regularly on a multitude of topics and hope you find something of value here to help you. I’d also love to hear from you at gagan@gagannirula.com if you agree or disagree with something I write.

Additionally, I’ll be posting new design work, from which I hope you can derive some inspiration and maybe, you know, hire me for your next project. 🙂

Cheers,

Gagan
