About Me
Hi! I’m Gagan (pronounced ‘Guh-gun’, though most people simply call me “Gee”), and welcome to my website. While the only true way you can get to know someone is by sitting across the table from them and having a conversation, I hope this site gives you a little insight into my professional world and how I can help you achieve your design and marketing goals.
Once you’ve explored the site, I invite you to get in touch so we can, you know, have an old-fashioned conversation over a beverage and figure out how to best tackle your needs.
In the meantime, here’s a little about me: My journey began when I was asked to join a fledgling dial-up information service called Digital Ink, which would somehow magically deliver selected content from the day’s Washington Post to readers far and wide. Shortly after joining Digital Ink, we received a missive to create the first-ever website for The Post. After three months of a crash course in HTML and coding, I was part of the team that launched The Post onto the Web. The rest, as they say, is history.
I went on to become a management consultant, founded a local web “portal” for the Washington area’s South Asian community, and created a boutique design studio, BlueGlow MediaWorks.
Today, I live, breathe and dream code and design. By day, I am the senior digital strategist (what does that even mean?) for the National Association of Broadcasters (yes, I designed the flagship website!).
By night, I’m a content creator for every medium – web, print, social, video. Additionally, I’m also proud to teach web and interactive design to journalism students at the University of Maryland College Park, Philip Merrill School of Journalism. When I’m not serving my clients’ design needs, I’m an avid sports fan. I love playing basketball, tinkering with gadgets, trying to keep on top of the continuously evolving digital landscape, and most importantly, experiencing life’s rich pageant with my wife and two teenage children.
